For those who don’t know me, I’m “D3”, a fourth-generation attorney fortunate enough to carry on the legacy of managing my family’s firm, Yergey and Yergey, P.A. Our firm has always worked closely with the OCBA, a relationship that I have continued since becoming a lawyer.
This year I had the pleasure of serving as the Chair for the OCBA’s Estate, Guardianship, and Trust committee. We were recognized at the OCBA Committee Fair as the best committee for providing our members with the most CLE credit opportunities. My ability to adapt and solve problems is my greatest strength. When the pandemic first hit, I began to coach judges and attorneys on “virtual hearings”. I’m proud to say I handled the first virtual hearing in the ninth circuit’s probate court.
Our committee worked diligently with the judiciary to establish CLE’s on virtual hearings and the etiquette expected in this brave new world. I believe that by serving on the executive council I can apply my unique set of abilities to help build a stronger bar association and benefit my colleagues.
