David A. Yergey Jr. was born and raised in Orlando. He is a graduate of the University of Florida, earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1980. He earned his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama in 1983. Mr. Yergey was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1983.
Mr. Yergey has been practicing for over 37 years, focusing primarily in Probate, Trust, and Guardianship litigation. He is active in the Estates, Trusts and Guardianship Committees. He has handled 1000's of contested probate, guardianship, and trust matters. These matters range from guardianship disputes, will contests, breach of fiduciary duty, and exploitation of the elderly cases. He is considered an expert in the field and testified in many trials in this area.
Mr. Yergey is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator focusing exclusively in the matters that involve Estate, Trust, and Guardianship disputes. Having litigated so many cases in this area, he understands how complex and difficult they can be on all parties.
Mr. Yergey provides pro bono service by serving as a Mediator for the OCBA's Citizen's Dispute Settlement Program and actively volunteers in the community with Lake Highland Preparatory School, The Edgewood Children's Ranch and All Saints Episcopal Church.
